ISO 9001:2008 Consultants In Pune India
ISO 9001:2008 –
Quality Management System :
The vast majority of ISO
standards are highly specific to a particular
product, material, or process. However, the standards
that have earned the ISO 9000 family a worldwide
reputation are known as "generic management
system standards".
• "Generic" means that the same
standards can be applied:
- to any organization, large or small, whatever
its product
- including whether its "product" is
actually a service,
- in any sector of activity, and
- whether it is a business enterprise, a public
administration, or a government department.
"Generic" also
signifies that no matter what the organization's
scope of activity, if it wants to establish a
quality management system or an environmental
management system, then such a system has a number
of essential features for which the relevant standards
of the ISO 9000 family provide the requirements.
|
| |
"Management
system" refers to the organization's structure
for managing its processes - or activities - that
transform inputs of resources into a product or
service which meet the organization's objectives,
such as satisfying the customer's quality requirements,
complying to regulations, or meeting environmental
objectives.
The ISO 9000
family is primarily concerned with "quality
management".
This means what the organization does to fulfil:
- the customer's quality requirements, and
- applicable regulatory requirements, while aiming
to
- enhance customer satisfaction, and
- achieve continual improvement of its performance
in pursuit of these objectives.
Organisations
have obtained measurable benefits early in the
process of deploying the standard requirements
in their operations. Some of benefits that they
obtained are a follows: -
• A template for the creation of a sound
quality system and a foundation to develop future
quality initiatives.
• Reduce Costs
• Enhance Customer Satisfaction
• Greater brand loyalty.
• An important step in the road to Total
Quality Management.
• Help to identify best practice and ensure
everyone in the organisation is moving in the
right direction.
• A powerful management tool that complements
other key management other key management functions
such as financial and strategic planning.
ISO 9001:2000
specifies requirements for a quality management
system where an organization
1. needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently
provide product that meets customer and applicable
regulatory requirements, and
2. aims to enhance customer satisfaction through
the effective application of the system, including
processes for continual improvement of the system
and the assurance of conformity to customer and
applicable regulatory requirements.
All requirements of this International Standard
are generic and are intended to be applicable
to all organizations, regardless of type, size
and product provided.
Where any requirement(s) of this International
Standard cannot be applied due to the nature of
an organization and its product, this can be considered
for exclusion.
Where exclusions are made, claims of conformity
to this International Standard are not acceptable
unless these exclusions are limited to requirements
within clause 7, and such exclusions do not affect
the organization's ability, or responsibility,
to provide product that meets customer and applicable
regulatory requirements.
